Neat Civil War Presentation sword Presented to Capt. J. H. Higginson Co I. 26th Regt. N. J. V. by his Company Set. 22nd 1862. Silvered grip inscribed NJ presentation sword. Tomes Son & Melvin Neww York maker marked on one side of the ricasso. Collins & Co. Hartford, Conn. 1862 on the opposite ricasso. The blade is engraved on both sides with patriotic symbols, US, a Zouave, eagle, Honor To The Brave, Union, etc. The blade is nice, but has a couple edge nicks and some light spots of old pitting here and there. Scabbard is metal with fancy brass mounts and drag. The brass screw is missing for the middle mount. Hand guard is ornate as is the pommel. It is a nice sword. $3675
